Senate debates minimum wage bill

YAKIMA, Wash. - Tips earned by waitresses, baristas and manicurists in the state are being debated in the U. S. Senate.

Washington and Oregon are among seven states where workers get to keep their tips, on top of getting paid minimum wage.

According to Senator Patty Murray's office, if this bill passes it could drop the minimum wage in our state from $7.63 an hour to $2.13 an hour for tip-earning workers.
