YAKIMA, Wash. - A cable company in Yakima will now be offering phone service.
Charter Communications announced Thursday Yakima will be the next community in the county to have Charter Telephone Service.
According to Charter Communications you don't have to purchase other services to be a phone customer.
In order to launch the service in Yakima, it's taken three years of planning and about $3 million dollars, said Jeff Hopkins, Charter Technical Operations Manager.
The service will offer service to approximately 170,000 residents in Central Washington and about 60,000 in Yakima, Hopkins said.
