PASCO, Wash - Local businesses can be reimbursed for some of the money they pay employees, if they hire Columbia Basin College students.
It is a part of the State Work Study Program, aimed at giving students experience in their field before graduation, said Theo Dobie, Assistant Dean for Career Employment and Financial Services at CBC.
CBC places the students in jobs and pays employers up to 55 percent of the students' wages, up to 19 hours per week, Dobie said. If the business provides a community service, reimbursement can be as much at 80%.
The next session begins September 18th .
Employers are able to browse available resumes and interview as many students as they want to, Dobie said.
