YAKIMA, Wa - Yakima County Commissioners say they aren't going to make any quick fixes with the county jail.
They have been going over an internal report they received last week.
Commissioner Mike Leita won't say what the specific security concerns are at the jail, but he adds they're considering several options right now.
One option is to house only the most dangerous inmates at the downtown jail and keep lower risk inmates at the new jail. Another is to move the courts to the fourth floor to create a barrier between inmates and the ceiling.
"These are all options, but options that need to be considered," says Leita, "We do not want to hurry this process. We want to make good and sound decisions."
The county commissioners are waiting for a third report from the National Institute of Corrections.
In that report, the consulting firm will make recommendations for the facilities at the county jail.
