YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakama Sun Kings have named Diana Juarez the team's new general manager. Juarez replaces Rich Austin, who resigned last month to become the Director of Sports for the Yakima Valley Sports Commission.
"I am very excited to return to the Sun Kings full-time," says Juarez. "I have a deep passion for the team and the CBA and I am looking forward to working with all the fans and sponsors."
This is Juarez's second stint as Sun Kings GM. She served as GM from 2003-2005. Juarez started with the Sun Kings in 1997.
The Sun Kings finished 2005-2006 with the CBA's best record at 31-17 and won their fourth CBA championship. Yakama also led the CBA in attendance.
The 2006-2007 season tips off Friday, December 1st.
