Soil Clean-Up Will Have to Wait a Year

YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakima School District is holding off on soil clean-up at two of its elementary schools, so the Department of Ecology has moved on to Naches Intermediate School.

Superintendent Ben Soria asked that clean-up start next summer at Robertson and Gilbert elementaries.  He told the Department of Ecology he wanted more time for grass to grow back, before school starts up again.

The Department of Ecology's project coordinator says they plan to continue the clean-up next year.
