Extra security at Tri-Cities Airport after the terror alert is raised

PASCO, Wash. - The terror targets were ten flights from Britain to a number of United States airports including Washington, Dallas, New York's Kennedy and Los Angeles International.

The attackers had planned to ignite a peroxide-based solution using a camera flash or another electronic device.

The rehearsal was designed to see whether the plotters would be able to smuggle the materials past security.

Locally, there are no major delays at Tri-Cities Airport, but security guards are confiscating any kind of liquids or gels people have in their carry-ons.

Everything from bottles of water, shampoo, and toothpaste will be taken away.  Nationwide the terror alert has gone from yellow to orange.

Airport security said anyone flying out of the Tri-Cities airport needs to arrive an hour earlier.

The security director said they are seeing a drastic increase in the amount of bags people are checking and this could affect delays.  They have more people on staff.
