Search for suspects in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The search continued for two men who police believe broke into an office building in Kennewick.
At nine o'clock this morning a man entered the building and found a broken window, a suspicious man inside and another male fleeing the scene.
Curt Lewis said, "I came into pick up some paper work and opened the front door and got partially down the hall and noticed one of the windows to one of the offices had been broken."
Lewis said there was glass all over the floor and he knew something was wrong. He went down the hall to another office and saw a man. He said, "When I went to open the door and someone was right behind the door. Shut the door back on me. Locked it and said they were working."
Lewis ran outside to his truck to call police. A number of witnesses saw an African American man running eastbound on Clearwater Ave.
Lewis states, "I saw a male run across the lot here and act like he was going into the church next door. I saw him run between the two building but it was not the same gentlemen I saw inside so I think there is two of them."
Police surrounded the building because they thought the second suspect might still be inside.
Deputies brought a K-9 dog to the scene but no suspects were found.
A computer was missing but workers said it is possible someone from the office might have taken it home. Police are continuing their search for both men and ask anyone with information to contact them.
