Pasco Road Closures
PASCO, Wash. - Getting around the East end of Pasco will be more difficult the next two weeks. Pasco city engineers plan to close the Highway 12 Lewis Street off ramp and the Lewis Street and East Lewis Place intersection.
From August 17th to September 1st, city engineers are closing the off ramp and the Lewis Street intersection so they can turn the looping T-stop into a four way intersection.
That will give truck drivers a straight shot from Highway 12 down to a street. Engineers said they hope the new intersection will attract new businesses to East Pasco.
"We want to be able to provide the means the connectors so that area can develop into a commercial area that its zoned for," said Doug Bramlette, spokesman for the City of Pasco Engineering Department.
Bramlette anticipates it will be tougher to get to some businesses like the Flea Market, but asks drivers to remain patient and courteous to construction workers.
Drivers should contact the City of Pasco for detour options.
