Murder Suicide Investigation In Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash - Kennewick Police are investigating what they believe to be a murder suicide at the Village at Grandridge Apartments on Columbia Center Blvd.

After 5:30 this evening Emergency responders found two bodies, a male 39-year-old Doug Britt, and a female 34-year-old Julie Britt, killed by gunshot wounds outside an apartment unit.

Another male was found 42-year-old Dewey Mahoney suffering from gunshot wounds inside the unit.

Mahoney was taken to Kennewick General Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Police say Julie Britt, a co-worker of Mahoney's, was visiting him at his apartment when Britt's estranged husband Doug shot Mahoney several times.

Doug then fired at Julie who was standing on the grass outside the apartment before turning the gun on himself.

Julie and Doug both died at the scene.
