Records Show Some State Liquor Stores Allowing Minors to Buy Alcohol

YAKIMA, Wa -  A public policy organization says that one in five minors who try to buy alcohol from a liquor store are successful.

All liquor stores in Washington are state owned.

The Evergreen Freedom Foundation obtained records from the State Liquor Control Board.

The records did not specify which stores allowed minors to buy alcohol.

In a study from January 2005 to June 2006, state stores sold liquor to minors in 35 out of 178 compliance tests.
