Hunters Should Check Wildfires Before They Leave

OLYMPIA, Wash. - The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is reminding hunters to check wildfire conditions before they head out.

Portions of the Umatilla National Forest are closed because of the Columbia Complex fire.

Hunting seasons for forest grouse, mourning dove and rabbit opened September 1st.  Black bear hunting in the Blue Mountains and northeast Washington opens September 5th.
