UNION GAP, Wash. - A house in Union Gap goes up in flames and several people inside were able to escape without injury.
The fire happened on the 1800 block of Mead Avenue and twenty-five firefighters responded to the incident. The house was totally consumed by the fire and smoke billowed up into the air, being seen for miles in the valley.
Tammy Eglin says she was sleeping with her fiance in a bedroom inside the house when someone woke them up. She says the fire was at the bedroom door and they had to climb out a window and that she doesn't know for sure how many people were inside the house when the fire started.
Firefighters says they don't believe anyone was hurt and are investigating the cause of the fire.
