Fire damages recycling plant

YAKIMA, Wash. - A fire damages a recycling plant in downtown Yakima.

It happened just after 11 a.m. on Monday at the Michelsen Packaging Plant.

According to the Yakima Fire Department, a small fire started in one of the hoppers, where cardboard and newspapers are recycled.

But this isn't the first time firefighters have been called to the recycling plant.

The plant has problems with their conveyors, which usually causes fires about every two months, Firefighters said.
