PASCO, Wash. - A teen walking home is attacked and kidnapped, but her instinct to fight back might have saved her life.
Pasco police have a suspect in custody who they believe assaulted the 14-year-old girl and then dragged her into his car.
It happened in the area of 5th and West A Street early Saturday morning. The young victim fought back and as able to escape. She called police.
22-year-old Roberto Lopez-Ramos was arrested a few blocks away near 3rd and Lewis Street.
Police are calling the crime sexually motivated and are searching for the suspect's car, where part of the assault took place.
Pasco Police Captain Jim Raymond said, "We are looking at it as a piece of evidence, so we need to get our hands on it in order to process that vehicle."
Police want the public's help in locating the suspect's car. It is a dark blue, Honda Accord, four doors with license plate number 174UNY.
Police believe this vehicle is some where in the Pasco community.
Ramos remains behind bars after being booked into Franklin County Jail for kidnapping and assault.
