PASCO, Wash. - The doors of the Tri-City Animal control were still locked as of Monday night.
The owner said he cannot do any business or bring in any more animals until he finds an insurance company.
According to Bruce Young, several law suits brought against him caused his premiums to skyrocket. One of those is being appealed right now. He said those looming legal costs make his payments unaffordable.
He said people cannot adopt, drop off pets, or have them put down until he is fully insured.
For now, local police agencies are handling animal complaint calls.
If you need help right away with an animal in Benton County call 509-628-0333 or in Franklin County call 509-545-3510 for police assistance.
