Kennewick Police Search for Shooting Suspects

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The search is on for two groups of people who police said fired gunshot at each other Tuesday night.

Right before 10 o'clock, eye witnesses told police they heard loud yelling coming from the Denny's restaurant parking lot on West Kennewick Avenue.  Within minutes, police said the two groups were firing at each other.  One vehicle described as a dark color, small SUV left the parking lot without it's lights on heading westbound.  Another car, possibly an El Camino fled the area the other way.

Minutes after the shootings, an eye witness called police saying a suspicious person was putting a handgun into the trunk of a car near the scene of the shooting.  Police showed up at that scene, but the suspects drove around the patrol car and got away from officers.

Police have notified all other police agencies and have alerted hospitals of anyone who may come in looking for treatment of a gunshot wound.

If you saw anything, you are asked to call police at 509-628-0333.
