YAKIMA, Wash. - Fire mechanics from across the region took a break from the action on Wednesday, with the third annual 'Creeper Races.'
Earlier on Wednesday at the Northwest Fire Mechanics' Conference, race participants unveiled a few of the vehicles that were featured at the event.
Washington State Fire Mechanics chairman Jay Jacks said the races were a great way to keep the mechanics light-hearted throughout the conference.
"This is sort of like their way to let loose and have some fun away from the classrooms," Jacks said.
A 'Creeper,' which is used by mechanics to slide underneath vehicles, are morphed into a go-cart by the fire mechanics.
