New law bans outdoor burning

MOXEE, Wash. -   Fall is in the air and if you are trying to burn leaves, twigs or other types of yard waste you might want to re-consider.

According to the Washington State Department of Ecology, starting January 1, 2007 residential burning and land-clearing burning will no longer be allowed.

It's part of the newest requirements of Washington's Clean Air Act.

According to the DOE, beginning in 2007, small communities in Yakima County including Moxee, Zillah, Tieton, Naches, and Granger will no longer be able to burn outdoors.
