PASCO, Wash. - Franklin County Election workers opened ballots for the primary elections all day and said some ballots will not be counted.
The Auditor said some of the ballots are not filled out right. She does not know if voters are protesting the new system or if people are not realizing they are filling it out wrong.
Under new law you have to choose a party affiliation and if you do not your ballot does not count.
The Franklin County Auditor wants that to change.
One voter ripped up his ballot but still mailed it in and wrote that he refused to pick a party and would not be participating in the primary election with the new rules in place.
