YAKIMA, Wash -- Yakima Airport conducted a full scale emergency exercise Saturday. The airport simulated a crash of a commercial airline, using an old yellow school bus. Volunteers from the Red Cross, Yakima Valley Technical Institute and Selah High School dressed as injured victims.
Police, fire, hospital and airport officials tested emergency and communication systems.
"Communication is always our largest issue," said Jerry Fitzpatrick, Assitant Manager, Yakima Airport. "Its always a large issue and its something we practice with a lot."
