BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - Local police take down a man who threatens to blow himself up. Police wanted the man for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, but when they found him officers had to use force to make the arrest.
Early Sunday morning police said 48 year old Jeffrey Lloyd Parker punched his girlfriend in the face so hard she had to be taken to Kadlec Medical Center.
Parker fled and Tuesday authorities found him hiding a Benton County home near the Twin Bridges area. Police said Parker refused to come out.
Although officers said the incident didn't end up in a standoff, Parker posed a big risk.
"He made threats earlier that he was going to make police kill him or that he was going to blow himself up with dynamite," said Capt. Randy Barnes, Richland Police Department.
When police eventually coaxed Parker out, he didn't comply with officers and police had to shoot him with bean bag ammo to bring him down.
