YAKIMA, Wash.- A pickup truck driver is okay tonight after running head on into a herd of horses. It happened around 5 a.m. on Thursday morning on the corner of Ahtanum Road and Marks Road. The driver of an oversized pickup truck came around a blind corner and found four horses loose in the road. Visibility on that stretch of Ahtanum Road is very poor, especially in the early morning or late at night. The streets are not well lit.
Three of those horses were killed instantly and the fourth was taken home without injuries. Neighbors say the horses escaped by jumping over a fence. The driver of the car was miraculously uninjured. Police say he will not be cited for this accident.
