RICHLAND, Wash.- Signups for the next round of Hanford tours are closed, and much faster than expected.
Fluor Hanford's new software allowed people to reserve their spots much quicker than before.
The new software was meant to even the playing field.
Before, it took about 12 minutes for the fastest typers to fill out the registration, but the new system allows you to reserve a spot before you even write down your name.
"Once you click you are given five minutes to actually fill out the form, and that would allow people, obviously, who're a little bit slower at typing to get in there and have a chance at getting a seat," said Thom Spencer, a Fluor Hanford Spokesperson.
Even though it is more efficient, the system did have a few glitches.
About 450 people were given spots, but only 350 were supposed to be allowed on the tours.
Fluor said they will find a way to honor all of those spots.
