RICHLAND, Wash. - Police said it is the work of a vandal. Windows are broken out and the inside of the Richland Public Library is trashed.
Library workers came in this morning to find a huge mess. They said someone broke-in over night and tore the place apart.
The suspect sprayed the fire extinguisher over everything, including a two of the self-check out machines that cost 10,000 dollars each.
They smashed the coin machine, stole candy and ripped books apart and threw them all over the place. The suspects also spread human feces on the floor.
Ann Roseberry is the library manager. She said the crime is devastating and that she is upset. She said, "Furious, absolutely furious and very, very sad. This community loves it's library and who ever did this to the library hurt the community."
The library will be closed tomorrow while workers clean up the mess.
They do not know when they will reopen but said people will not be charged for late fines during the time they are closed.
If you have any information on the crime you are asked to call police.
