Ellensburg Police Make Two More Arrests in Sakalia Stabbing

Ellensburg, WA -  New information tonight on the stabbing of a Central Washington University football player -- two more people have been arrested.

Ellensburg police say sophomore linebacker Steve Sakalia was stabbed here a little over a week ago, in the 700 block of 18th avenue.

Police are now releasing details about what happened that night. They say Sakalia was asked to leave a north end party -- then confronted two men while he was walking home.

More people got involved as the situation escalated. Police have now arrested three people in connection with the stabbing; a 16-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, but none have been charged with the actual stabbing.

Sakalia was released from the hospital late last week. He suffered multiple stab wounds in the fight.

Sakalia spoke to KNDO by phone last Thursday -- saying he was attacked by more than 15-people, and didn't know any of them.
