Sun Kings Select Seven in CBA Draft

YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakama Sun Kings selected seven players in Tuesday's CBA Draft. In the first round, Yakama took George Washington forward Mike Hall with the tenth overall pick. Since the Sun Kings finished 2005-06 with the CBA's best record, they picked last in every round.

The Sun Kings drafted another forward, Dwayne Mitchell (Louisiana-Lafayette) in round two.

In round three, the Sun Kings had two picks at the end of the round. Yakama took a pair of Big East players. The Sun Kings nabbed Georgetown's Brandon Bowman and Villanova's Allan Ray.

Yakama selected San Diego State's Marcus Slaughter in the fourth round and California's Leon Powe in the fifth round. The Sun Kings used their final pick on Wake Forest forward Eric Williams.

Gonzaga's JP Bautista was taken in the first round (7th overall) by the expansion Vancouver Dragons. Bautista though has signed a contract to play in Europe. Vancouver also took Washington forward Jamaal Williams in the fifth round.

The Minot Skyrockets made Syracuse forward Dayshawn Wright the first overall pick.
