Hydro Races on National Cable TV Channel
Unlimited Hydroplane Series from four race sites will be shown on Monday, October 23 through Monday, November 13; it's four weeks in a row, Mondays at 3pm on Fox Sports Net, a national cable TV channel.
In a written news release, ABRA Chairman Sam Cole said, "our agreement with FSN allowed us to reach that goal and the time period is perfect for all motor sport fans."
Being shown on FSN will be:
- San Diego
"I think all fans of the sport will want to watch the great racing we had during the Gold Cup in Detroit and the unbelievable footage secured during the race on the Columbia River," added Cole in the ABRA news release. "The great race in Seattle with the greatest heat racing ever in San Diego will complete an exciting four-weeks of ABRA racing on TV. "
Editor's Note: About 95% of all the racing action on the Columbia River was part of KNDU-TV's LIVE BROADCAST of the racing. KNDU gave unlimited access to Focused TV in an effort to help promote the sport of hydroplane racing. KNDU waived all fees and rights to this footage in order to help make this broadcast possible.
Ironic that the ABRA tried to shut down the internet web streaming (viewed by 2,400 race fans around the world) and the local race site organization is discussing shutting down any future such broadcasts of the Tri-Cities races... without which the national broadcasts might not have happened.
