YAKIMA, Wash -- The fair is over. Gone are the food vendors, games and rides. The only thing left -- trash. Lots of trash.
"Its like a having a big party," said Greg Stewart, G.M. State Fair Park. "And afterwards you have to clean up."
Hundreds of workers will tear down tents, food stands and rides for the next week or so. Much of the equipment will go onto other fairs. What isn't being used for other events or next year, will be thrown out.
"The amount of trash, garbage being hauled off is in the tons," said Stewart. "We don't know the exact number yet because we are still hauling if off."
