MOXEE, Wash. - Two million pounds of hops were destroyed in Monday's fire and the S.S. Steiner Warehouse.
Now the question on everyone's mind, is this going to have an impact on the industry? According to the Washington Hop Commission, it Depends.
So For all of you beer drinkers, don't worry you won't see a increase in your favorite varieties.
"The impact of the fire on beer supply and hops in beer will probably not be noticed by the general consuming public," said Ann George, administrator with the Hop Commission.
However, unlike beer consumers, hop growers will definitely being feeling the effects from Monday's loss.
"The impact for growers will be fewer spots in the market and more demand for their product," George said.
