YAKIMA, Wa - The University of Washington is getting tough on high school seniors who slack off in the spring.
The university says it's withdrawing admission for seniors if their academic performance takes a serious downturn after they have been accepted.
The admission's office withdrew offers to 23 students who had been accepted this past spring. Another 180 received stern letters over the summer.
Admission was withdrawn if grades dropped from A's and B's down to C's, D's and F's. If seniors failed a required course, or if they dropped, or failed to complete challenging courses.
