Operation DVD a Great Success

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.- Local veterans are collecting DVDs for American soldiers, and Wednesday, they emptied some of their drop boxes to find hundreds of donations.

The box at the Pasco American Legion was overflowing when they went there for a meeting Tuesday night.

Wednesday, they emptied the box, getting about 40 DVDs out of it, and when they find the post commander, they say he has more overflow DVDs in his office.

In just more than a week, they say they have collected hundreds of DVDs.

The movies will be sent to troops stationed overseas, and they say it's great when the community reaches out.

"You know, people care, you know the troops really don't think it matters what kind of movie it is. When they get something like this it's something that's gonna hit them in the heart," said Commander Charles Kinsey.

Even though they have already collected hundreds of movies, there's no deadline for stopping the project.

If you'd like to donate, you can drop by KNDU studios, or go to any of the local town halls or American Legion posts.
