State's Smoking Ban Improving Air Quality in Bars and Restaurants

YAKIMA, Wa -  The American Lung Association says the new smoking ban is improving air quality in restaurants and bars in Washington.

A new study out today says that air quality has improved 88-percent since the ban went into effect ten months ago.

The American Lung Association monitored pollutants at 35 restaurants and bars throughout the state -- before and after the ban.

Initiative 901 -- which banned smoking in restaurants and bars here in washington -- went into effect last December.
