Police Arrest Greenway Suspect

YAKIMA, Wash. - Police have arrested a man in connection with the Greenway assault on a woman earlier this week.

He was in court on Thursday for a preliminary hearing.

Yakima Police arrested the 26-year-old homeless man at Kiwanis Park last night.

Patrolling officers Kasey Hampton and Tarin Miller noticed a man matching the description of the Greenway suspect.

The 22-year-old victim positively identified him as her attacker.

Police are charging him with first-degree assault and attempted kidnapping.

Police say a knife matching the same description of the one used in the attack was found and police recovered some clothing.

The suspect's arraignment is on Monday.
