Mill Workers Lose Appeal for Trade Act

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wa -  Another setback for unemployed mill workers -- laid off by Yakima Resources.

The union representing the mill workers says their appeal for the trade act has been rejected by the Department of Labor.  They say the plan now is to appeal to the US International Trade Court.

The union says not having 'Trade Act' certification means laid off mill workers won't be eligible for any health and welfare benefits -- and they'll lose one year worth of financial assistance.
