Driver responsible for spill won't be charged

YAKIMA, Wash. -   The driver responsible for a diesel spill won't face charges.

That's according to the Union Gap Police Department.

The driver of the YW Transport hit a barrier near Ahtanum and Goodman Roads, said police

About 20-gallons of diesel from that truck spilled onto the road and about three gallons got into Wide Hollow Creek.

Most of the diesel that spilled into the creek is gone, said Tom Kehm, Union Gap Fire Chief.

"Everything looks fine, Kehm said. "We went down and checked the creek and there doesn't seem to be oil spills, or evidence of oil in the creek so we think it was taken care off."
