KENNEWICK, Wash. - Low income families in the Tri-Cities and across the state are many times without the money needed to pay for legal services. The Alliance for Equal Justice is lending its time and money to combat the problem.
At an open house on Wednesday, members of the group interviewed families that had been helped by its free legal services.
More than 20,000 families have already been helped but three out of four low income families still face legal problems each year. Alliance leaders say that they hope the open house opens the public's eyes to the ongoing problem.
