New program helps low-income families

YAKIMA, Wash. - A National Program offering car loans to low-income families is helping people in the valley. Up to $4,000 is available to qualifying families, through the "Ways to Work" program.

Qualified borrowers must be denied credit by mainstream financial institutions. If they are, they can receive a seven percent interest loan through "Ways to Work."

The program is offered locally through Epic, which has guaranteed about 80 car loans.
