PASCO, Wash. - One grandmother has taken on a project that does not seem very likely for a grandma.

Lonna Rau been working since April on a two story playhouse for her two granddaughters.

54-year-old Rau said she learned how to build the playhouse from reading books.

She said she built things in the past but none as big as the playhouse.

She plans on winterizing it and adding lights.  Her 3-year-old granddaughter Caisi and one-year-old Emili helped grandma paint Thursday afternoon.

Rau said, "This thing will probably be standing way past when I'm gone, so they may have their kids grow up in it.  It's something a lot of kids can enjoy."

Rau had her hip replaced in July but said she is not going to let that slow her down.  She watches the girls twice a week and said she loves to stay active.
