Senator Murray Talks with Local Law Enforcement About Gangs and Meth

YAKIMA, Wa -   Senator Patty Murray making several stops in Central Washington today.  One of those was at the Yakima Police Department.

There she spoke with local law enforcement about two big problems -- gangs and meth.

Local law enforcement expressed concerns about a growing meth problem in the valley and a need to fund programs that take a preventive approach to gang violence.

Their biggest message to the senator - don't forget about yakima.

Murray recently worked to secure $300,000 in an appropriations bill that -- if passed -- will help to fund the group 'Citizens for Safer Yakima Communities.'
