CEO of Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic Recognized by Governor's Office
YAKIMA, WA - A longtime healthcare administrator in the Yakima Valley receives a special award from the Governor's Office.
The CEO of the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic receives the 'Warren Featherstone Reid' award for excellence in healthcare.
Health Secretary Mary Selecky presented Carlos Olivares with the award at the 'Joint Conference on Health' Tuesday afternoon. The award is given out each year to healthcare providers and facilities in the state who show exceptional quality in their health services.
"This is a reflection of the work that our staff does at our clinics. All the way from the maintenance people to the physicians who provide the care. I think this is a tremendous honor for us as an organization," says Olivares.
Olivares became the clinic's CEO 20-years ago at a time when it's future was in jeopardy. Now it's one of the largest community and migrant health centers in the country.
