The Salvation Army is trying to teach Pasco-area teens how to be Street Poets. 80% of crime in Pasco happens in the 20-block radius around the Pasco Salvation Army. The new Street Poets Center is designed to point kids in a positive direction.
Members of the Salvation Army and the public came together to unveil the new center. Music and a new mural decorating the center's front wall celebrated the 1,500 hours that have been spent on the new center. The Salvation Army and the public commemorated the hope and anticipation that comes with Street Poets.
The Center aims at turning Pasco's youth into community leaders. The center will be completely finished by the beginning of the year. Until then, leaders at Street Poets have a mural and many other projects to complete.
