Tri-Prep's Campbell Set to Break Rushing Record

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash - Tomorrow afternoon Tri-City Prep's Senior running back Joe Campbell has the opportunity of a lifetime!  Joe is merely 158 yards shy of breaking Lonnie Simpson's 23-year-old career rushing record of 6,724 yards.  With Joe averaging over 300 yards a game, the feat should be pretty easy to accomplish.

One interesting thing about Joe and his record is that when you ask him, he honestly has no clue how many yards he has!  Joe says he really doesn't care too much about the record, he cares more about his team and getting a W on the board.  He's even unselfish when it comes to his celebration plans!  "I promised my linemen at the beginning of the year that (if I broke the record) I would make them a steak and lobster dinner, so I have that planned."

The Tri-Prep Jaguars play Sprague-Harrington tomorrow afternoon.
