KENNEWICK, Wash.- City of Richland and Kennewick officials are working together to connect Center Parkway between Gage Boulevard and Tapteal.
Kennewick leaders were in Olympia Friday for a two day hearing on railroad crossings.
The proposal would mean Center Parkway would have to cross the railroad tracks where railcars are normally stored.
Right now, the road abruptly stops in the middle of a parking lot on Gage, and dead ends at the tracks on the Tapteal side.
Some businesses in the area are excited by the proposal saying it would provide better access.
Right now, it is about a two mile drive between the two dead ends.
