WSU Tri-Cities Administration said it is a way to get students to come to the university and said tuition is almost 7,000 thousand dollars a year.
Clark Haueter, WSU Tri-Cities Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration said, "We are excited about the freshmen. The community went to bat for us in the last legislative session. We got the authorization that was necessary to bring the freshman on board."
Administration said up to 50 freshmen would be accepted for next year. Students will also be able to apply for other scholarships.
