Local Groups Allege Minutemen Are White Supremacists
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Community members are speaking out against two local groups they're calling "white supremacist hate organizations."
The groups in question are the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and Grass Roots on Fire. Opponents gathered to say those groups shouldn't be able to meet at a public place like the Selah Civic Center.
Local democratic leader Tony Sandoval, and local chapters of MECHA and Aguila Del Norte say they're not trying to trample on anyone's first amendment rights, but they allege those groups engage in illegal activity, and have ties to white supremacists.
