Gas prices are at the lowest this year
YAKIMA, Wash. - In case you haven't noticed, the price of gas is the lowest it's been all year.
In some parts of the United States drivers can gas up for less than $2 a gallon.
Unfortunately, that isn't the case in Yakima, but it's better than it was.
The average price of gas in the valley is about $2.57 a gallon, but KNDO found a place that was a little cheaper than that. Gas at the Arco on Nob Hill Boulevard is $2.45 a gallon.
Philip Hyde is a truck driver and has came to the Arco to fill up before he heads back to Utah. He said he is finally glad to see that the prices are dropping.
"It means a lot to my wife, who is in my pilot car," Hyde said. "She puts on three to four hundred miles everyday running back and forth. She burns a lot of gas."
Hyde travels all across the United States and can easily spend hundreds of dollars to fill up his tank, he said.
"Right now it's between $400 to $500 every time I fuel," he said.
Roberta Aragon has also stopped by the Arco to fill up.
Lower gas prices will make it easier on Aragon's pocketbook.
"I have a minimum wage job and I only work part time so the gas prices going down it's a lot cheaper for me," she said. I drive back and forth from Selah to Yakima."
Getting more for you buck is something that both Hyde and Aragon are finally happy to see, and maybe you are too.
