Man Ties Up Woman In A Richland Apartment
RICHLAND, Wash. - A Richland woman sick in bed wakes up to a frightening scene. A man kicks down her door, ties her up and shoves her into a closet.
Police wanted the perpetrator because he kept driving when officers tried to pull him over. Police said 22-year-old Joshua Bussell refused to stop for traffic officers at George Washington Way and Comstock.
Bussell kept going until he crashed his car just outside an apartment at 50 Jadwin Ave. Bussell broke down the door, ran into the woman's bedroom, put his hand over her mouth, tied her up with some twine, and threw her into the closet.
Police believe Bussell may have been drunk or high when he invaded the woman's apartment.
"Once inside rather than being frightened off by someone's presence, he actually bound her hands and forced her into a closet. That's not your typical suspect behavior," said Capt. Mike Cobb, Richland Police Department.
However, when police ordered Bussell to come out, he didn't put up a fight. The woman was frightened, but not hurt. Officers said Bussell faces five possible felony charges, including attempting to elude police and unlawful imprisonment.
