As many as 2,000 tax statements in Umatilla County are incorrect.
County officials say the errors resulted from a software change and from the farms not being given their special tax privileges. County officials are rushing to correct the statements before november elections. They are afraid that the tax mistakes will influence voters when they vote on local issues.
Those with property tax concerns can call the Umatilla Tax Department at (541) 278-6216.
