New Annual "Hallowine" Event Starts This Weekend

ZILLAH, Wash. - It's not Halloween, but "Hallowine" in the Yakima Valley this weekend.  The Rattlesnake Hills wineries are starting an annual event, to celebrate Halloween in wine country.

Wineries on the Rattlesnake Hills trail are displaying pumpkins and dressing in costumes.  Tefft Cellars, Eaton Hill, Paradisos del Sol, Hyatt Vineyards, Bonair, Masset, and Piety Flats are participating.

Most wineries open at 10:00 am or 11:00 am, and close at 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm.

Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail coordinator Shannon Bird says "Thanksgiving in Wine Country" and "Spring Barrel Tasting" are the valley's two biggest wine events.  But there are plans in the works to expand the "Red, White and Blues" event the weekend before July 4th, and new wineries are planned for the area.
